Monday Grumbles

You know, some days just aren't worth crawling out of bed for, like today.  Cue the Benny Hill music...

I woke up to snow, began my normal morning routine, then went outside to warm up the truck, returning to the warmth of the house to wait. A bit later I return to the truck prepared to drive to work only to find out that the damn thing automatically locked. So here I am standing in the snow, the truck us running, but I'm locked out...with no spare key. Disgusted, I make my way back towards the house and... fall, jarring my bad back and hurting my bad knee.

Once inside I call work to explain to my boss why I was going to be late, then I phoned the police. The police informed me they could not help and instructed me to call a locksmith. So I call some locksmiths, but due to it being so early in the morning nobody is answering their phones, go figure.

By this point I'm on the verge of crying and call my Uncle who tells me to call the Fire Department. Sooooo I call the Fire Department and guess what, no one answers the phone. So I call my Uncle back and he told me to call a certain tow company and instructed me to tell the guy that he told me to call.

So I call the towing company, and finally, someone answers AND is able to help. Yaaay! It only cost me $50, but hey, I was just happy to have the door unlocked and able to get to work.

So on my way to work, someone takes a corner and sliiiiides towards me, missing me by inches, to sliiiide right in front of me, passing me, and sliding into the other lane, pretty as you please! No worries, nobody was hurt. He/she was able to correct the vehicle without further incident.

I get to work and I'm sitting at my desk when a spider decides to visit, almost falling in my lap. Now, if you know me, you know I don't do spiders. Nope, nuh uh, no way! Somehow I managed to scoot away without squealing while Spider scurried happily away.

My back is currently giving me the-what-for, but my knee isn't too bad....so far.

I think today would have been better spent at home in bed.

Dancing with Spider

My morning ritual started as my norm... hitting the snooze button several times before reluctantly climbing out of bed, grabbing my robe and towel, stumbling around the cats to the bathroom and taking a shower. After drying off and wrapping my hair, I reached for my robe and put it on my still damp body; I already had one arm in a sleeve and was putting the other arm in when I noticed a wolf spider inside my robe.

Stifling screams I frantically danced around trying to pry my clinging robe off my damp body, spinning around in circles, yanking at my robe and making little squeals, trying not to wake up my son LOL the damned thing finally fell on to the floor before I managed to rip that robe off of me. Needless to say, I killed that sucker, then promptly shook the hell out of my robe and reluctantly put it back on for my trip back to my bedroom.

Needless to say, all my morning grogginess had magically disappeared... gee imagine that!  **said with much sarcasm**

I'm sorry, I know I'm not suppose to cause harm but me and spiders... well we don't get along. They like me but I do not like them! I actually think Spider is one of my Totems; I have had run ins with them my entire life, starting as a toddler when I was confronted by a tarantula, which my Granddad killed. I have had face to face encounters, close encounters, near miss encounters, I have been bitten, and have had several dreams in the form of nightmares. The lore of a Spider Totem is actually pretty cool and I can see definite similarities...  I love to draw, paint, color, craft, and enjoy writing poetry as well as blogging... but ugh, they freak me out! Sorry Spider :(

Snow greeted me again this morning; it snowed off and on all day yesterday, through the night and off and on again this morning! I'm am currently sitting at my desk at work cuddling with my heating pad LOL! The roads were actually clear this morning though whereas yesterday morning I slid through the intersection at work as well as every corner on the Res on the way to the office! Thankfully I managed to stay on the road... sheesh!

Word has it that we are getting more snow here in Arizona that back East... even in Maine!  According to the forecast we are suppose to get even more snow this weekend; this is the most snowfall we have had in a long time and its beautiful... even though it's making a slushy muddy mess out of my front yard LOL

It was too dark this morning to take pics of my yard before leaving for work, but I did get pics at the office....

It's beautiful but the roads are slick as hell! Even in 4 Wheel Drive I slid around corners coming to work! Needless to say, some of our personnel didn't make it in... too bad our Boss won't give us a paid snow day LOL I would love to be home cuddling with my electric blanket right now!
