Rise Up

Heavy burdens
Dragged her down
Crushing her will, a great weight
grinding bones into dust
Grief's torment overwhelmed,
Streaking her face while purging phantoms

Taunting shadows parted
Giving way to strengthening light
Drying her tears with a shuttering breath,
She rose ready for battle
Refusing to be beat

  1. If we get up every time we fall, our standing muscles get stronger. Yay! for refusing to say down.

    1. Thank you Magaly. Stubborness is a blessing... and a virtue 😊

  2. We have to be experts on falling (and getting up again) if we're trying to land in the right place. I really like the artwork you combined with this inspiring piece.
